Cat Training

Not just dogs need training.  Cats have the ability to be trained as well.  Training, behavior management and modification can actually help keep cats in their homes.  As you probably already know cats have a mind of their own, in order to train a cat all you have to do is figure out what motivates them.  Whatever the problem is that you're having our certified cat trainer can make a behavior management plan for your cat and restore the dynamics of the home.

Cat consultations are free!  We'll come to your home to hear about the behaviors you're seeing, see the layout of the home which could be playing a role in the behaviors, meet your cat and get a better understanding of the problem in order to develop a plan to improve the behavior.

Spraying and Litter Box Issues

Spraying around the house and going to the bathroom outside of the litter box is the number one reason cats loose their home.  It's also the leading reason cats are euthanized.  We understand this is the hardest behavior problem to live with.  We'll help get to the bottom of what is causing the behavior and develop methods for the individual cat to redirect them to going to the bathroom in the appropriate location.

Free consultation is required to determine length of sessions.  More than one 8 week session may be needed, depending of length of time cat has been going to the bathroom outside of the box and other determining factors.

Vet care will be required before any training will begin, but is not required before the consultation.

Length: 8 weeks

Cost $200

Biting and Scratching

It's never fun to own a cat that is going after people.  Is your cat biting or scratching people for no reason?  Hiding and jumping out around walls to grab you?  We can help everyone get along and coexsist in the home.

Free consultation is required to determine how many weeks of sessions may be needed. In most cases 12 weeks of sessions are sufficient.  In extreme cases additional session will be needed, depending of length of time cat has been practicing the behavior and other determining factors.  Aggression is serious and we will be honest with you and refer you to a Veterinary Behaviorist if the behavior your cat is displaying is best suited for someone with both an animal behavior and medical degree.

Vet care will be required before any training will begin, but is not required before the consultation.

Length: 12 weeks

Cost: $275

Clawing

Tired of your cat destroying your house?  Is he scratching the chairs, tables, walls, carpet or everything?  Want an alternative to declawing but can't put up with the clawing any more?  We can teach your cat where is appropriate to scratch and stop him from trashing your home.

In most cases 8 weeks of sessions are sufficient to extinguish the behavior.

Length: 8 weeks

Cost: $200

Socialization

If either you recently adopted a new cat or you've had a cat for years that you never get to see around the house we can help your furry friend come out of his shell.  You probably got your friend to be a companion.  While you may not be able to force an "introvert" type of cat into being a lap cat you certainly can help him become more outgoing and social around members of the family.  This is also a great program for kittens of any age who aren't completely social or were previously feral (wild).

In most cases 12 weeks of sessions are sufficient to see an improvement in socialbility.
