About the Owner

Jen's been caring for animals all her life.  She started working with horses at a very young age, by the age of 15 she was already part of management at a local horse facility.  She started to focus her education on farm animals and began working with different farm animals such as cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, sheep and goats.  After years of working with horses and other large animals she transitioned over to small pocket pets and companion animals.  She's been in the animal care field for over 20 years.

While working as a veterinary technician she also worked at a local animal shelter where she fell in love with dog behavior.  For over a decade she worked with dogs with unknown backgrounds and temperaments.  After becoming an ABCDT (Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer) she began teaching her knowledge of proper handling techniques and current training methods to staff and volunteers.  She continually developed new protocols to better the lives of homeless dogs in the shelter.  Although she loved the shelter her goal was to help find a way to keep pets in their loving homes.

Jen started Lyons Pride Training L.L.C. shortly after becoming an ABCDT she completed certifications in Training Shelter Dogs, Feline Management and Training as well as Pet Nutrition and Diet.  She continues to expand her knowledge of animal behavior and current training methods by attending seminars and taking classes.  She is currently working on becoming a certified CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed), which will make her one of the few dual certified trainers in the Bucks & Montgomery County area.
